You may use your Sideline number with other business entities and at times they may require you to verify/validate some information through either a text or call.
Verification Calls
Sideline doesn’t limit the types of phone calls you can receive. However, certain companies may not allow you to use your Sideline number for verification.
Note: This is not something that is imposed from our end, so we recommend you work/verify with the company that is sending the verification.
Verification Texts
Sideline supports a variety of validation/verification codes that we get through our provider, which helps to verify ownership of an account (like a forgotten password, for example.)
We have over 8,000 SMS-supported shortcodes (5-6 digit phone numbers) so you can receive notifications from more of your favorite airlines, banks, social media sites, etc.
If you did not receive the text with a code:
It is likely that the business or entity is not yet supported. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
Please note: This may be subject to change in the future, depending on the support of other services through our provider.
Check out our blog post for more information on shortcodes and their benefits.

Honestly, this is a huge pain point. Also the fact that I had to come in here to find out why it was happening.
