Why am I being asked to migrate to Team Sharing?
As a Team Number account that shares its number, we wanted to introduce you to Index's Team Sharing plan which has all the elements of Team Number, PLUS the ability to use Index's business tools.
As a business with members on the team, we thought you'd find value in using these business features.
What is Team Sharing and how does it differ from Team Number?
Team Sharing is an Index plan that allows a business to share access with team members so everyone can answer calls, send and respond to texts, and help manage customer communication. (More info)
Team Sharing offers (whereas Team Number does not):
- Shared business contacts across the team.
- Access to Index Web for business texting and use of business tools.
Will my Team's data transfer to Index?
Yes. When you follow the upgrade steps seen here, your communication history (calls, messages, and voicemails) WILL transfer to Index.
Why does Team Sharing cost more?
Team Sharing allows the team to use Index's business tools AND gives access to Index Web (for Web-based texting, whereas Team Number does not have those capabilities.
If I MIGRATE to Team Sharing....
Do I have to cancel my Sideline subscription?
Yes. Index's Team Sharing plan is considered a separate subscription from Sideline, therefore, the Team Admin will need to cancel the Sideline subscription to avoid being double-charged. (Cancelation Instructions)
Do I have to re-invite members to the Team?
Nope! Once the Team Admin logs in and subscribes to Index, members will be sent a text message with a link to download Index. They can use their current Sideline login info to log into Index, then that's it! All communication data and messages will appear in the inbox for each member.
Note: Once you log in and subscribe to Index, the members of your team will be automatically logged out of Sideline. From there, they should download and sign into Index.
Can I invite more than 5 members to the Team Sharing team?
No. We have a max of 5 members to a team for Index (same as Sideline's Team Number).
Note: If your Sideline team has more than 5 members currently, we will honor your current team's number when you move to Index, but you may not add additional members in the future.
Will my Sideline Team number transfer?
Yes. When the Admin logs into Index with their existing Sideline info (number and password) Index will detect that there's an existing Sideline Team account and will transfer the number automatically.
What if I change my mind, can I switch back to Sideline Team Number?
No. We no longer offer Team Number for NEW customers, and when you subscribe to Index, you forfeit your Sideline Team account, therefore, you cannot revert your account/team.
The Team Sharing account has additional benefits and features that Team Number does not have, so we hope you find value in using Index for your business.
If I DON'T migrate....
Will Team Number be removed in the future?
Our product team has not made a decision on this yet, however, we do recommend migrating to Team Sharing at this time if you've determined the value to you and your team.
