What is a Sideline Pilot number?
The Sideline pilot number is the number that we use to connect your calls. You can also find this within your device's contact list as "Sideline Call". This contact is where the Sideline Pilot numbers used for inbound and outbound calls are stored. When an inbound call comes in, it will ring through this contact. *It is very important that you do not delete this contact.
When receiving or placing a call, you may notice that the number appears as an out-of-state number. This is because the Sideline Pilot number is being displayed instead.
To quickly fix this, please complete the following steps:
1. Enable "Call Announcement" in your Sideline settings. This will help slow the calls down and extend the ring time so you never miss another call, and help the correct Caller ID to appear.
2. If you continue to experience trouble, please go into your iPhone Contacts, search and delete "Sideline Incoming Call" contact, then place a quick test call to someone. Doing this will reset the routing number.
3. Or complete the Basic Troubleshooting steps if your calls are not displaying the correct Caller ID still.
If you have any questions about this, please contact us and we'd be happy to help you.
