You can certainly port-in your existing phone number to Team Number. Please read the important notes below prior to porting in.
Important:
- Porting to Team Number requires that you first opt-out of your existing Team Number. When you opt-out, all of your current data will be lost, and you will be starting over with a brand new account. Therefore, it is advised to take note of any important messages or contacts in your existing account prior to changing your number.

- Keep in mind that that you will be unable to export content from Sideline Web as it is not compatible with Team Number accounts.
Please follow the instructions below in order to port your phone number into Team Number:
Step 1: Opt-out of Team Number
- Go to 'Sideline Settings' (in-app)
- Scroll down to 'Get Help' (Android devices) or 'Support' (iOS devices)
- Tap the 'Close Account' button
- Tap the 'Continue to close account' button if you are sure you would like to close your account.
Step 2: Port-in to Sideline
- Create a new Sideline account
- Choose a temporary Sideline number
- Go to 'Sideline Settings' (in-app)
- Scroll down to 'Number Porting'
- Enter the number you would like to port-in
- Click 'Next'
- You will receive a text message to the phone number you are requesting to port. Please reply “yes” on that phone to continue
Step 3: Re-invite team members to your account
- Go to 'Sideline Settings' (in-app)
- Tap 'Team Number'
- Tap 'Set up Team Number' for iOS or 'Invite Member' for Android
- Once you choose a contact, you will be asked to confirm that you want to share your number with that person
Please Note:
- If you are unable to receive a text message for verification, choose 'Call me instead' to receive a verification code via phone
- If you are unable to receive a verification text nor a call, please reach out to our support team by submitting a request below
Few items to note after you have completed the above steps:
- Our porting Vendor (Bandwidth), will check the port request and phone number to determine if your number is available to port
- The port-in process will take roughly 3-5 business days to complete
- To check the status of your port, go to your Sideline Settings
