Note: This feature is available for Pro iOS subscribers only at this time. The Pro feature set is temporarily limited on Android.
Pro iOS subscribers can easily send review requests to help build their online reputation and attract new customers.
If you are familiar with Templates, the review request works just the same, by allowing you to quickly send a message that includes a direct link to your Google business listing.
Note: This feature will only work if you have an active 'Google My Business' account set up that includes a business address. (Resource on how to use Google My Business to establish your online presence.)
How to link your business & create a review request:
- Open Sideline on your phone.
- Tap
- Tap
to open your list of Templates.
- From the list, scroll to locate the
Template and tap.
- A 'More Google reviews, more business' screen will pop up; tap the Continue button.
- At the 'Allow Sideline to access your location' screen, make one of the following selections:
- 'Only while Using the App' or 'Allow Once' (if you don't see this prompt, disregard it and proceed to the next step.)
- On the Look Up My Business screen, type in your business name as it appears on Google to search.
- If your search does not return results: Double-check that your Google My Business account is set up and includes a business address. If an address is not listed, you will be unable to locate and link your business.
- Once you've located your business name, tap to select.
- Sideline will then create a 'Review Template > tap OK to confirm.
- Review the Request Review Template (you can customize the message at this time if needed)
- When you're satisfied with your template, tap Save.
FYI: Sideline needs permission to access your location to find your business. If you choose 'Don't Allow' (in step 6 above) you will be unable to proceed until you enable location access via your device settings.
How to send the Request Review Template:
Now that you've linked your business and created the Request Review Template, you can send the request in a couple of ways:
From within an existing conversation:
- Tap
located to the left of the text field.
- Tap the 'Request Review' Template template.
- Tap the Send arrow.
From the new message screen:
- Enter the contact name or number into the To: field
- Tap
located to the left of the text field.
- Tap the 'Request Review' Template template.
- Tap the Send arrow.
Need to edit the Request Review Template?
You can easily manage your current Templates from the Settings screen at any time.
Here's how: Settings > Templates > tap the Template you want to edit > make the edits > tap Save.
