How to manage contacts in Sideline

--Tab 1 Start--

You have the following contact options with Sideline for iPhone:

To create new Sideline contacts 

1. From the Sideline Address Book, tap the "+" sign, then "Create New"
2. Enter your contact details, then tap "Done" 

Note: You cannot create new contacts for your iPhone in Sideline. You must do so from your phone's address book. However, you can save a Sideline contact to your iPhone (see below).

To add contacts from iPhone into Sideline

1. From the Sideline Address Book, tap the "+" sign, then "Add contacts from iPhone"
2. Select the contacts you'd like to bring into Sideline, then tap "Done"
3. You will see a pop-up "Contacts added to Sideline" 

To import contacts

Contacts can be imported to Sideline from a VCF or CSV file. For full instructions, please see How to import a list of contacts in bulk

To export contacts

Sideline contacts can be exported from the app and saved to your device's contacts list instead. For instructions, check out Exporting Contacts from Sideline.

To save Sideline contacts to iPhone

1. From the Sideline Address Book, tap the three-dots (ellipsis) on the top right.
2. Select "Add Contacts to iPhone"
3. Select the contacts you'd like to add to your iPhone's address book, then tap "Done"
4. You will see a pop-up "Contacts added to iPhone"

To delete contacts

1. From the Sideline Address Book, tap the three-dots (ellipsis) on the top right.
2. Tap "Select Contacts to Delete"
3. Choose the contacts, then select "Delete"
4. A pop-up will be displayed asking to confirm your selections. If correct, select "Delete" once more.

You have the following contact options with Sideline for Android:

To create new Sideline contacts 

1. Tap the Address Book icon, then select "Create New"
2. Enter your contact details, then tap "SAVE" 

Note: You cannot create new Android contacts in Sideline. You must do so from your phone's address book. However, you can save a Sideline contact to your Android address book (see below).

To add contacts from Android into Sideline

1. Tap the Address Book icon, then select "Add contacts from Device"
2. Select the contacts you'd like to bring into Sideline, then tap "Done." 

To import contacts 

Contacts can be imported to Sideline from a VCF or CSV file. For full instructions, please see How to import a list of contacts in bulk

To export contacts

Sideline contacts can be exported from the app and saved to your device's contacts list instead. For instructions, check out Exporting Contacts from Sideline.

To save Sideline contacts to Android

1. From the Sideline Address Book, tap the three-dots (ellipsis) on the top right.
2. Select "Add Contacts to Device"
3. Select the contacts you'd like to add to your Android's address book, then tap "Add"

To delete contacts

1. From the Sideline Address Book, tap the three-dots (ellipsis) on the top right.
2. Tap "Select Contacts to Delete"
3. Choose the contacts, then select "Delete"
4. A pop-up will be displayed asking to confirm your selections. If correct, select "Delete" once more. 

Note: Any contacts created/saved on mobile will be displayed on Sideline Web.

--Tab 3 Start--

With this update, you'll now see a "Contacts" tab displayed at the top of the Web inox. This is where all your contact details will be displayed. You have the following contact options with Sideline for Web:

To create a new Sideline contact 

1. Log in to Sideline Web.
2. Under the "Contacts" tab, select the "Create" button on the top-right of the screen.
3. Enter your contact details. Click "Create" when done (however, the info should auto-save once you click out of a contact field). 

To import contacts

1. Log in to Sideline Web.
2. Under the "Contacts" tab, select the "Import" button on the top-right of the screen.
3. You will then be asked to select the file to import (vCard or CSV file are accepted).

To delete a contact 

1. Log in to Sideline Web.
2. Under the "Contacts" tab, highlight the contact you wish to delete.
3. Click the three dots (ellipsis) on the contact name screen to display the options menu.
4. Select "Delete Contact"
5. Confirm your selection by selecting "Delete" from the pop-up box. 

FYI: 

• You also have the option to change the text tone or block (from the options menu).
• Any contacts created/saved on Web will be displayed on Sideline mobile.
