Sideline's 'Call Announcement' feature helps to separate your Sideline voicemail from your regular voicemail. If your incoming callers are being routed to your personal voicemail, we recommend enabling the Call Announcement feature at all times.
How to enable via Sideline
- Sideline Settings
- Under the Calling section, tap or swipe the button 'Call Announcement' to enable (green)
Note: Team Number accounts will not see this feature in the Settings menu as it is enabled at all times.
Benefits
- Ensures your caller will be routed to your Sideline voicemail after declining a call (and not your personal voicemail)
- Extends the number of rings before the call is sent to voicemail
- Ensures incoming calls meant for Sideline are routed to Sideline (and not your cell number)
Tip: Enable this Sideline feature to help resolve issues with Sideline calls or voicemails routing to your device (and not Sideline). Especially helpful to have on when you're in an area with weak or no cell service.
How it works
After answering an incoming call, an audio prompt will instruct you to press "1" to accept the call or hang up to send it to voicemail.
Tip: If you can't find the Call Announcement feature in your app settings, this is an indication that you either have a Team Number account or currently have VoIP/WiFi calling enabled.
If you have questions on this feature or are having trouble with your calls routing to your personal voicemail, please submit a request and we'll gladly assist you.
