Note: When setting up Templates, you'll find three default responses. Feel free to use them as-is, or customize as needed.
To set up Templates for iOS:
- View your Sideline Settings.
- Under 'Texting', tap Templates (NEW), then tap Continue.
- From there, you'll see the default Templates. To create a NEW Template, view the instructions below.
To create a new Template:
- Sideline Settings > Templates.
- Your Template list will display. Tap Create New.
- Enter a title for your Template (up to 20 characters allowed).
- Add Image (optional): Click "Add Image" to add a photo from your camera roll or Camera to take a new photo.
- Write a message: This will be the text you want to display in the Templated response (500 character limit).
- Tap Save when complete.
Please note: You can have a maximum of 48 Templates saved at a time.
To manage your existing Templates:
You can edit the Templates you've created, customize the default Templates you were given, and/or delete them. Here's how:
From Sideline Settings:
- Under Texting, tap Templates.
- Your current list of Templates will be displayed. Tap the Template to edit or delete.
Tip: You can re-order your Templates (top-right of the screen) to keep them organized.
From within a conversation or new message screen:
- Tap the + to the left of the text field.
- Select Templates from the list.
- You can create or manage (or select the Template to send).

View your inbox and within a conversation (or a new convo):
- Tap the + to the left of the text field.
- Select Templates from the list, then click Continue.
- From there, you'll see the default Templates. To create a NEW Template, view the instructions below.
To create a new Template on Web:
- Tap the + to the left of the tect field > select Templates from the list.
- Click "Create" on the top-left of the pop-up.
- Enter a title for your Template (up to 20 characters allowed).
- Add Image (optional): Click "Add Image" to upload an image from your computer.
- Write a message: This will be the text you want to display in the Templated response (500 character limit).
- Tap Save when complete.
To manage your existing Templates:
You can edit the Templates you've created, customize the default Templates you were given, and/or delete them. Here's how:
From within a conversation or new message screen:
- Tap the + to the left of the text field.
- Select Templates from the list.
- Select "Manage"
- To Edit: Click the
pencil icon.
