Please see below for information on how the port-out process works and the typical port-out processing times.
Port-out process
- Generally speaking, the "gaining carrier" (where you're porting your number to) controls the time it takes to complete the port.
- Our role, as the "losing carrier" (where you're porting your number from), is to verify that you've initiated the port-out process and provide you with the account number and PIN.
- Once you've provided your new carrier with your Sideline Account number and PIN, it's in their hands.
From what we have seen in the past, the process can take anywhere from 1-5 days to complete. As mentioned above, this is dependent on the Carrier; every carrier may have slightly different timelines.
Note: This timeframe is an estimate & some ports may fall outside the normal processing times if additional information is requested by the carrier you're porting your number to.
To receive a more accurate estimate, we suggest reaching out to the carrier/service you're porting your number to and asking for their approximation.
If you have further questions, please submit a request.
