Sideline has no restrictions for who we will release our numbers to when porting out; however, the gaining carrier may not accept your number.
Note: Wireless-only carriers, such as Google Voice and Cricket, have historically not accepted Sideline numbers for porting in due to our numbers being classified as VoIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol).
Please contact the new carrier to ensure they allow the port-in of VoIP numbers, as Sideline numbers are classified in this way.
Items to note:
- Any errors that arise during the port-out process will need to be handled through the Carrier service you're taking your number to.
- Since Sideline numbers are VoIP numbers (and not true Wireless numbers), the porting process will typically take between 1-5 business days.
- You cannot (nor can Sideline Support) cancel the port-out request once it's begun.
- Cancellation requests must be made through your NEW Carrier.
If you have any questions, please submit a request.
