Why does Sideline need "Full Access" to my contacts?

Sideline requires full access to your phone's contacts for two main reasons:

• To identify who is calling you.
• To display your phone's contacts in Sideline's address book. 

Note: Granting full access to contacts enhances your experience with Sideline. We do not share your contact information; it remains private and secure within Sideline.

What happens if I "Limit Access" to contacts?

For Sideline to work as intended, you should not limit access. If you only allow access to certain contacts, you will face these issues:

• Your call screen will show only the phone number, not the contact name.
• Only the contacts you give Sideline access to will be displayed in Sideline (so it will look like you're missing contacts).
• You won't be able to see your iPhone's contacts in Sideline (the "iPhone" tab for contacts will be empty). More info on how we separate Sideline and your phone's contacts seen here.
• Apple's "Ask reason for calling" feature may impact your calls and prevent them routing to the Sideline app.

How to give full access

If you previously limited access or denied Sideline permission to contacts, you can change this in Settings easily! Here's how:

1. View your iPhone Settings.
2. Scroll down to Apps and open.
3. Find the Sideline app and open.
4. Tap on Contacts and update permission to “Full Access”
